Vyepti is an intravenous (IV) treatment designed to prevent migraine headaches, decreasing not only frequency but also severity.
Inside the brain, there is a protein called CGRP, which stands for calcitonin gene-related protein peptide. CGRP attaches to CGRP receptors and activates them, which is thought to play a larger role in causing migraines. Vyepti binds to CGRP preventing the activation of CGRP receptors.
After a provider orders and suggests Vyepti as a treatment for your migraines, you will receive a call from the Infusion Center to go over all aspects of treatment. The number of Vyepti treatments can vary based on each patient’s specific migraine profile. Treatments are typically every 3 months, or 4 times per year.
**Please be advised, a determination for your Vyepti prior
authorization may take up to 30 days to obtain. **
